I'm delighted to present the final cover for British Flash - I think Alex Beecroft did an absolutely first-rate job with it!

The book, which will be available as a free e-book from 16th June, contains a fantastic line-up of GLBT short stories from British writers both established and new:

Alex Beecroft, Victoria Blisse, Stevie Carroll, Charlie Cochrane, Sophia Deri-Bowen, Erastes, Lucy Felthouse, Elin Gregory, Mara Ismine, Sandra Lindsey, Clare London, JL Merrow, Josephine Myles, Zahra Owens, Jay Rookwood, Caroline Stephens, Stevie Woods, Lisa Worrall and Serena Yates.

All credit to [livejournal.com profile] josephine_myles, without whom none of this would ever have happened!

As a member of the selection committee I’m delighted to tell you that both anthologies have got a fantastic line-up of stories, all exploring different aspects of what it means to be British – and we were thrilled to see that some of our favourites were by newer authors.

Contributing authors: Alex Beecroft, Stevie Carroll, Jennie Caldwell,
Charlie Cochrane, Elin Gregory, Clare London, Anna Marie May, JL
Merrow, Josephine Myles, Zahra Owens, Jay Rookwood, Chris Smith, Lisa
Worrall and Serena Yates.

We’re still expecting more stories in for both anthologies – further contributors tbc.

My story in Tea & Crumpet, Good Breeding, is about that most British of subjects, class. In my British Flash stories, Worst Pub in London (m/m) and Like a Girl (f/f), I’ve tried to reflect the multicultural makeup of Britain today.

Other contributors have explored themes including cricket, the royal wedding, freezing cold beaches and punting on the Cam, and there are some welcome reappearances by already-published characters. As [livejournal.com profile] josephine_myles said in her original call, raise your rainbow brollies high and celebrate! :D

There will be a fairly informal (and FREE!) meet-up for writers and readers of GLBT fiction:

Sunday 12th September at 12.15 to 4. ELY LIBRARY, CAMBRIDGESHIRE, UK.

We're planning to go for a pizza afterwards. Feel free to bring books to be signed and/or biccies to share!

Here’s the community to keep up to date: http://community.livejournal.com/ely_meet/

So do come – and even if you CAN’T come, PLEASE REPOST THE INFORMATION so as many people as possible get to hear about it.

It should be a fantastic afternoon! :D
