Great Review for Wight Mischief

Merrow’s trademark humour sparkles throughout the book. Parts of it are laugh-out-loud funny, while other bits are completely deadpan. The dialogue bounces with wit, and even the minor characters are drawn with a light touch… and there’s a real sense of menace in the final action-packed scenes. – 4.75 stars. I was also chuffed to see the reviewer’s opinion of one of the side characters, Baz: He’s an arrogant wanker who shamelessly takes advantage of Will and everyone else around him, but at the same time I actually liked him!

Exactly what I was going for! Open-mouthed smile

A question for you: Do you ever take some of your side characters from one book and give them their own stories in another? I've only read a few of your pieces, so I wasn't sure about that.

LOL! Yup, you read my mind. I have been toying with the idea of giving Baz his own story. As he's a journalist it'd possibly also involve Luke from Pricks and Pragmatism, who makes a cameo appearance in Hard Tail, the novel I've just finished the first draft of...

So to answer your question - I haven't done it yet, but I'm giving it serious consideration. :D

Love how your characters aren’t perfect and have quite a few unlikeable traits, but you still manage to make them likeable and endearing. It’s always nice to see realistic characters that are flawed and human.

Looking forward to seeing Luke again!

I saw that review too - I'm totally in accord with Leslie's assessment of Baz! Yes, he was horribly opportunistic, but at the same time there was something loveable that redeemed Will's crush.

Great to see you getting such fantastic reviews already - I'm really excited for you!

Baz in his own book?! Well, I'd certainly be keen to read it! Not sure if my tastes are entirely normal though - in fact, I'm almost certain they're not...

Hurrah for excellent reviews. I can see I need to move that one up my To Read list, since I hadn't spotted the cameo when I was beta-ing.

Although, when's it out in print? I might wait for that...

Wight Mischief should be out in print sometime next autumn, I think. Or did you mean Pricks and Prag? Sadly, no plans to print that as it's too short for a novel. :(
