..Thank you, Noble Romance!

7th Aug: Submitted story
(later): Changes requested
8th Aug: Resubmitted story
(later): Story accepted
9th Aug: Contract sent
10th Aug: Contract signed and returned (hey, I was sick on the 9th!) :)

Of course, I've no clue when it'll actually appear!

And the story? Well, it's all [livejournal.com profile] josephine_myles's fault, for making a comment about "warding off the creeping ghouls of respectability". I started to wonder, how precisely would one ward off a creeping ghoul? And what if, say, one decided NOT to ward off said ghoul after all...?

A Ghoul Like You:

Niall's just a ghoul looking for a quiet life. Instead he meets Jamie, a kid on a vampire killing spree. And nothing says "I love you" like a stake in the chest…

A visceral story of love (or something like it) among the undead.

Whee! Someone was mainlining coffee that week. :D

I had something similar happen with my first Torquere story. It took a while for them to get back to me, but I got the edits file and looked it over that day. It all looked good so I e-mailed Shawn back to say, "Looks fine." She e-mailed me back an hour or so later to say it'd be up for sale in the morning, which was like six hours away. O_O Sometimes you just slide right into that perfect slot. :)

Hurrah - I knew someone would want it!

Even though this story squicked me the first time I read it (and I know it was all my fault n' all), I did love the changes you made, and I'm sure it will appeal to those readers with a stronger stomach than me!

For money, yes. :) I was walking six inches off the ground for the next week, LOL!

I've just checked, and the fastest acceptance I've had was eleven days, and that was more because I'd submitted on the closing date than anything to do with the quality of the story, methinks!

I had one that went 7 hours from submission to acceptance, but the contract took longer to show up. Whoot on your sale!

That was quick!

And nothing says "I love you" like a stake in the chest…

Sounds brilliant :)!
