Well, in fine old English Bank Holiday tradition, every time I look out of the window I find myself quoting Christopher Robin: "Tut, tut! It looks like rain!"
*opens umbrella and waits for small, mud-covered bear to fall out of the sky*

Nevertheless, I'll be putting on my sou'wester and galoshes and heading on up to Kimpton May, to watch the procession and hopefully spot some Morris Dancers in their natural habitat.

I'll be back later with news of... drumroll... my very seasonal new release, but for now I'll just leave you with a few spring-themed limericks I wrote a week or two ago for a Torquere Social contest:

When birds start to sing in the sun
And the sprouting of buds has begun
We'll all cast a clout
And before May is out
We'll be having all manner of fun!

A maypole, so tall and erect
With multi-hued ribbons bedecked
What a sight to be seen
On the staid village green
--It's a bloody big cock, in effect!

There was a young fellow called Lance
Who round a tall "maypole" would dance
His lover would moan
And say with a groan
"Just get on and suck it, you nance!"

*giggles*
I love limericks, especially these :-)
(though my favourite ever is:
Two weevils sat on the professor
The small on became the agressor
When it bit through his hide
The professor, he died
Though it was of two weevils the lesser.
because it combines limerick with a really bad pun. Even if I maybe can't spell 'professsor'?)
