Yes, I'm back from Kimpton May, where we had a great time, although we managed to miss the maypole dancing due typically to being in the pub. We did, however, see the parade, followed by the crowning of the May Queen. There was lots of jolly English fun, with men dressed up (badly) as women and generally making themselves look daft. And a darn good barbecue. :)

I got back home to find my new Sip up on the Torquere website; appropriately enough, it's a May Day story called The Green Man

Here's the blurb:
In 1920s England, class distinctions still hold sway, and the old pagan traditions are far from forgotten. Can shy young Arthur, stranded in a country village, come to terms with his attraction to the handsome mechanic fixing his car? And are the May Day celebrations more than just a simple country fete?

I'll be driving the [livejournal.com profile] torquere_social LJ tomorrow, when I'll be posting about May Day traditions, and the Green Man himself, and offering a chance to win the Sip. Hope you can join me!

I thought you were going to say [livejournal.com profile] crack_van!

This looks like a fun read, and I'll definitely be picking it up. I love the English aspects of your stories, and I adore a good historical. Yay!
