Progress, and lack thereof

I am coming to realise that it was probably a bit optimistic, expecting to get a novella drafted while the kids are off school. 2,200 words down; an awful lot more to go. I may have to rethink plans for this to be a Christmas story.
But now for the good news: my short story The Prince and the Plumber, a tale which despite the title owes a lot more to James Bond than to Mark Twain, has been accepted by Neil Plakcy for his anthology The Handsome Prince, which will be coming out from Cleis Press sometime in 2011. I'm particularly chuffed to be working with Neil; he's a fellow I Do Two author whom I met in Bristol earlier this year when we were promoting the anthology. :)

Date: 2010-08-16 07:08 am (UTC)Sorry the writing isn't going so well. I keep telling myself, three more weeks, and Daisy will be off to school and I can get myself some serious writing time. Just got to hope it will be enough to get my own Christmas submission written and polished...
