Once I'd heard why the 456 wanted the children I rolled my eyes and didn't really care any more what happened. They wanted to use the children for drugs! Am I the only one who couldn't BELIEVE that!
No more Torchwood for me.
ETA: On reflection, I'm wondering if that was the point. Such a stupid, dumb reason and for that they've almost destroyed the world. Is that the point RTD was making?
And is he comparing Jack to God, in that he gave his only (grand) son to save the world? Puhleeze!
Did you get the moment of WTF? when someone commented "We're dealing in drugs!" as if that was somehow more repugnant than delivering children to a living hell?
The sad part, for me, is that knowing what comes after spoils re-watching seasons 1 and 2 now. :(
The first two eps are absolutely awe-inspiringly brilliant. The third is a little slow. The fourth will kill you, and the fifth will spit on your grave.
