Sindustry 2 and My First Review!

Yep, it's double-squee day today!
Firstly: Sindustry Volume 2 is now on sale! Because I am a greedy person where cute rent boys who need a little love are concerned, I have a story in this one too. I actually like my story in this volume better out of the two; it will be interesting to see what other people think!
Once again, there are some well-known names in m/m romance here and I can't wait to read their stories! (Only got the PDF myself this morning) And check out the impressively flexible young man on the cover! *g*
And secondly: Sindustry Volume 1 has been reviewed at Rainbow Reviews, which gave it 4.5 stars! :D *bounces*
Not an in-depth, story-by-story review, but it's great to see Sindustry getting the thumbs up! :D

Date: 2009-07-13 10:01 pm (UTC)I saw the Angels and Demons call from Samhain - but 20-30k is a lot longer than I have been writing lately (ie, since I started doing original stuff) and I know from experience I tend to get tangled up in knots if I try to go longer. I'd like to do longer pieces, and in fact I've been working, on and off, on a werewolf novella that's up to *checks* - well, blow me, it's up to 20k already. But it's been stalled there for quite a while, probably because every time a new anthology call comes out I think Oooh, shiny! and go and write something short for that.
The other problem is that writing about angels is about the one area where I start to get religious scruples (although I haven't tried writing about priests yet - I think that might cause the same reaction). I have in fact written and submitted a short story for a different Angels and Demons anthology, but it turned out very religious (and didn't, strictly speaking, have any angels in it, despite the title, which was Angel).
Demons don't seem to be such a problem, but I think to be honest I'd rather work on my series about Rael! Which, yes, is already up to 28k, but in easy, bite-sized chunks, which is probably not what they want! (and I've sent the first one in to Torquere, in any case)
Are you thinking of writing something for the Samhain call?

I sent Angel in to the Ravenous Romance Angels and Demons anthology. Don't know when I'll hear, but I suspect not soon as i think the editor is still reading submissions for another anthology, a Fairy Tale one which I also submitted for.
The werewolf novella is set in Cambridge University, but it needs a lot of work and possibly POV tweaking, so I doubt I'll be doing that before September. *curses school hols* ;D
