Writing: that's the easy bit

Why is planning and organising stuff so much harder than actually writing it? I have just been wrangling the last quarter of Camwolf into submission, making sure things weren't happening too slowly, and I am feeling far more drained than if I'd been writing for an equivalent length of time.
Now I'm sure that when I come to pick up the manuscript again, I shall be enormously glad I did all that. But right now, all I can think of is: All that work, and not a single word added to the count? *sigh*
In other news, my m/m/m story is now complete and off to beta, which makes me feel All Accomplished. It's set in a dentist's surgery, so I wonder if I should have warned her there are graphic scenes of drilling... ;P
